At Smile On Mona Vale, we’re all about providing premium dental care using the latest technology and techniques. The latest addition to our team is Dr. Christian Yassmin, a highly skilled Sydney dentist with expertise in dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, and Digital Smile Design (DSD).
With a strong focus on precision, patient care, and advanced digital workflows, Dr. Christian ensures each patient receives tailored treatment to achieve long-lasting, natural-looking results.
We sat down with him to discuss his approach to dentistry, his passion for implants, and how technology is shaping the future of patient care.

1. What do you love most about being a dentist?
Dentistry is the perfect mix of skill, technology, and problem-solving. I love that I get to transform my patients’ smiles while improving their oral health and confidence. There’s nothing better than seeing the impact a great smile can have on someone’s life.
2. You have a special interest in orthodontics – why do you think it is such a great option for patients?
Orthodontics involves moving the teeth into a position of better alignment. Many patients come in having aesthetic and functional concerns which can be corrected by straightening the teeth. It can be done as standalone treatment or as an adjunct with other cosmetic and restorative procedures. Straightening teeth sets the foundations for every smile.
At Smile On Mona Vale, we offer TEETH ON IMPLANTS®, a full-arch system that allows patients to restore their smile in just one day – with teeth removed, infections cleaned, and implants placed in a single procedure. Whether it’s a single tooth or full-arch restoration, implants provide a permanent, life-changing solution.
3. A lot of people would love to improve their smile but feel nervous about cosmetic dentistry – what would you say to them?
I completely understand – undergoing cosmetic treatment is a big decision! For me personally, cosmetic dentistry is an umbrella term for achieving the best aesthetic result for the patient. I personally look at every case as a cosmetic case. With that mindset, no matter how simple or complex the treatment is, the patient knows that we are doing the best to achieve they smile they want. The good news is that with Digital Smile Design, we can show you exactly what your smile will look like before treatment even begins.
This allows patients to see their end result ahead of time, so they can feel more confident in their treatment. My approach is always conservative and natural-looking – I want to enhance your smile, not make it look artificial.
4. How has technology changed the way you plan treatments?
Technology has completely transformed modern dentistry. Digital workflows, CBCT scanning, intraoral scanning, and guided implant surgery allow us to plan treatments with extreme precision.
With Digital Smile Design, we’re able to create customised, highly accurate treatment plans for aesthetic and functional excellence. It’s all about minimising guesswork and delivering more predictable, high-quality results for patients.
5. You come from a family of dentists – how has that influenced your career and the way you approach dentistry?
Dentistry has always been part of my life. Growing up, I spent a lot of time in my father’s practice, watching him work and eventually assisting with advanced surgical and cosmetic procedures. Seeing firsthand how much skill, precision, and care goes into creating beautiful, functional smiles really shaped the way I approach my own work. It also taught me that dentistry is more than just technical expertise – it’s about building trust with patients and understanding their goals.
That early experience gave me a real passion for multi-disciplinary dentistry, and it’s why I focus so much on using the latest technology and techniques to deliver high-quality, long-lasting results.
6. What’s one piece of advice you give to all your patients when it comes to oral health?
Consistency is key. Good oral health isn’t just about brushing twice a day – it’s about regular check-ups, professional cleans, and preventive care. Small, everyday habits make a huge difference in avoiding bigger (and more costly) issues down the line.
I always encourage my patients to address dental concerns early, rather than waiting until they become bigger problems.
7. How do you help nervous patients feel at ease?
I believe that clear communication is the best way to ease anxiety. I always take the time to explain procedures, discuss options, and answer questions so patients feel informed and in control.
We also offer sedation options for those who need extra support. At the end of the day, we want every patient to feel comfortable and confident about their dental care.
8. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I like to stay active, so you’ll usually find me at the gym, at the beach, or catching up with mates when I’m not in the clinic. I played professional rugby for a while, and even though I’m no longer on the field, that competitive mindset and discipline have definitely stuck with me.
I’m also a massive Star Wars fan and have a real passion for 3D printing. Balancing work with things I enjoy is really important to me, and I think it helps me bring the best energy and focus to my patients every day.
